n fall 2012, BMW introduced the Concept Active Tourer at the Paris Motor Show. The concept car gave us a preview at what the first front-wheel drive BMW may look like.
About a year and a half later, the F45 BMW 2 Series Active Tourer is born.
Our image comparison shows lots of similarities between the two vehicles, but at the same time, some significant changes as well.

First, the kidney grille have gone under a small surgery, they are now flatter and the headlights’ size have been increased as well.

At the rear, the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer have most conventional tailpipes, since the concept was shown in Paris was a hybrid. The taillights are also less “futuristic”, think more production than concept, a trend we have seen before. From the profile, we can see a different set of door handles and mirrors.

Inside we get a toned down version of the concept interior, one that resembles current BMWs in the lineup. Gone are the glass inserts and cool looking iDrive knob, replaced by the “typical” BMW buttons and trim.

Without any further ado, here are the comparison images:

In the search for the fiercest opponent for the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, one doesn’t have to think twice: not only the dimensions make it clear, but also the position in the market, Mercedes-Benz B-Class is at close as it can get to the 2 Series Active Tourer.
Already offered in a second generation, Mercedes-Benz B-Class has similar proportions and design ideas as thenew 2 Series Active Tourer, even though one may argue that the latter one is slightly more dynamic looking.
Compared to the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, Mercedes-Benz B-Class is 2 centimeters longer, 1.5 centimeters narrower and nearly three centimeters shallower. Whether these small deviations cause also noticeable differences in the interior space remains to be seen. Someone that wants even more cabin space can opt for the seven seats 2 Series Active Tourer.

Both models come standard with a front-wheel drive configuration, and optional for both models there is also an all-wheel drive. BMW has yet to reveal when the xDrive 2 Series Active Tourer will be available.

The Bavarians are lip-tight when it comes to pricing, but we expect a similar price point as the B-Class, somewhere around 27,000 Euros.

The darling of all BMW fans, the 1M, gets another power upgrade from a German tuner. This time, the folks over at LEIB Engineering are taking a stock BMW 1M and are upping the power output in two stages.

Dioni Tabbers gorgeous blonde supermodel - hot, teen, sexy, cute, girl
The tuner remapped the ECU and installed a new flap exhaust system that gives the car an even deeper sound. In the first package, the total power is 400 hp and 413 pound-feet of torque — up from 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet. Without the speed limiter, the 1M Coupe hits a top speed of 190 mph. LEIB Engineering programmed the flap position control to the M-button in the multifunction sports steering wheel.

Those that have a little more money and feel ready for a hot-rod on four wheels, a 500 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque offering is available. The extra power comes from the use of larger turbochargers, a suction system with a larger cross-section and completely revised cooling and exhaust packages.

Since the car needs a specific look to differentiate from the “regular” 1M, Leib gave the “baby-

M” a matte gray wrap and 10-by-20-inch Bavaria BC5 Concave wheels wrapped in Yokohama Advan sports tires sized 255/30R20 on the front and 275/30R20 at the rear. The rims are painted in a blue similar to Laguna Seca.

The BMW Performance carbon rear spoiler trunk lid was also partially covered with foil, while the Alpha-N tail diffuser one level lower clearly

Earlier this summer, BMWBLOG’s 1M attended the Midwest Big Meat 2013, a popular meet-up in the Midwest that gathers hundreds of BMW fans every year.
This year’s event has drawn a record number of cars, giving the owners a chance to showcase their latest mods or in many cases, stock models.

Back in June, the folks over at IND and renowned exhaust manufacturer Eisenmann gave our 1M a “new sound.” The popular and high-sellerEisenmann Race Exhaust System has replaced the stock exhaust.Along with the sound upgrade came a power output increase. The 1M tune from ESS Tuning gave a significant boost to the 1M. The ESS E-FlashFlash N54 “is/1M” ECU offers normal whp range on DynoJet of 345-365whp, which translated in our case to around 400 horsepower.Next on our list a new set of wheels to complement the overall look of the car.let’s have a look at the photo gallery.

The folks are Yahoo Autos have put together a list of six cars might be worth making an investment in.  Out of the six cars listed as future classics, two of those are BMW models.
BMW 1M
In a way expected, the BMW 1M sits at the top of the list. The “baby-M” went on sale in 2011 and was sold out before it even reached out the local dealerships.
brunette supermodel and porsche - retina, babe and car, hot, hd, teen, girl, cute, sexy

Listed at $47,030, the 1M sold either for sticker price or significantly higher, reports at the time mentioned some dealers charging a premium of $10,000.
6 cars worth making an investment in
There were 740 units sold in the United States with some of those units being reported totaled after unfortunate accidents.
In a little over two years since it went on the market, the BMW 1M sells on various car listings websites from $60,000 to $70,000 (with a pretty base configuration), a significant increase over the base price.

The BMW 1M is one of the best cars BMW has ever made. Ever. It hit the market in 2010, and its twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter engine delivered some 340 horsepower. But it wasn’t the sheer power that made it what it was, it was the overall feel behind the wheel. Total driving bliss.

Tigers Pinup Girl - classic cars, people, women, vintage, roadsters, pinups, sexy, cars, bikinis
At a starting price of $46,000 brand new, the 1M ran in limited numbers before it was off the market for good in 2012, with just over 6,300 units sold worldwide. Want a grab a used one for sale on the web today? You’ll be dishing out close to $70K.
If that wasn’t validation enough, in 2011, Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson said “BMW 1M Is The Most Fun Car of the Year.” Clarkson placed the BMW 1M ahead of the McLaren, Ferrari FF and 458, Nissan Skyline and the Lamborghini Gallardo Performante.
E92 BMW M3
6 cars worth making an investment in
Second BMW to be listed as a future classic and money maker is the outgoing E92 M3. The V8 engine found in the M3 might be the last ever seen in the super sporty M car, a naturally-aspirated beauty that has received many accolades over the years. The F80 and F82 M3/M4 will make use of six-cylinder turborcharged engine, a more potent unit but with a different sound and behavior.

Like any great automaker, BMW is moving on to bigger and better things with the new 4 Series — the much-anticipated successor to the 3 Series coupe. But it’s the high-performance E92 M3 coupe that will leave enthusiasts tripping over themselves to get one in a decade’s time.

The base price for a 2013 E92 M3 Coupe is $60,100 and while the car didn’t see a price spike, it continues to hold a good value. While the 1M is tougher to find around you, the E92 M3 should be available at most dealerships around the country.

The list goes on and cars like the Fisker Karma, Lexus LFA, Ford Mustang Boss 302 and Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S are being labeled as future classics.

Dinan S3-R BMW 1M review: A great car made epic

steve Dinan made a deal with the speed devil, and it’s been meted out in the details. The physical manifestation of this speed demon’s work is the S3-R BMW 1M.Just what makes this devilishly fast car so quick, who is the man who dare alter a modern cult classic, and why should you pay him $32,472 (and trust him) to alter your 1M into fully-modded S3-R BMW 1M form? These are all valid questions. After driving Dinan’s evil creation I can tell you the answers to these queries with a measure of enthusiasm, certainty and post tire-punishing

Dinan S3 R BMW 1M review: A great car made epic
It’s not what Steve Dinan will do to your bank account, but what he’ll do to your BMW that is the focus of this article. Yes, Dinan’s car modifications cost far more than those of most tuners – but here’s the un-cooked truth of the matter: Steve Dinan runs an engineering firm that rivals some of the best racing outfits in the world. He is an unwavering megalomaniacal perfectionist when it comes to all things automotive, settling for nothing less than spot-on, every time.

Nothing is stamped with his name – no parts shipped – unless they pass Steve’s stringent standards. In fact – nothing leaves the shop unless Steve Dinan himself drives the modification part at great length and signs off on it.
Dinan S3 R BMW 1M review: A great car made epic
Exaggeratory as this may sound, I actually found a certain likeness between Steve Dinan and Horatio Pagani. Even parts that your eyes will never see are altered to both function at the highest level and achieve visual appeal – thus striking at perfection. Steve’s is a level of excellence that is unmatched in the BMW tuner world – even Alpina has reason to sit up straight and take a few notes here and there.
A lessor S3 1M can be had for a less lofty $16,719; you’ll still get the meat-and-potatoes of Steve’s engineering but you’ll forgo the stunning and highly dynamic BBS wheels, Dinan-Brembo brakes, carbon-fibre rear spoiler, mirror caps and much fatter Michelin Pilot Super Sports if you chicken out of paying the full monty. I imagine the less modded S3 1M would also lose a great deal of its romance – its undeniably exotic persona.
Dinan S3 R BMW 1M review: A great car made epic
Visually the S3-R BMW 1M is menacing, building upon the 1M’s already handsome looks to perfect a decidedly masculine, nefarious form. Aesthetic changes continue into the cabin where you’ll find Dinan floor matts, a Dinan S3 serial numbered plaque and aluminum performance petals (the right-most of which helps you achieve flawless throttle blips for every heel-and-toe – more on that later).
Dinan S3 R BMW 1M review: A great car made epic
Much has been altered under the in-your-face skin. A plethora of engine modifications focused on cooling and turbo boost yield staggering results: the S3-R BMW 1M produces 444 horsepower at 6,350 rpm and a stump-pulling 450 lb-ft of torque at 3,300 rpm. That’s more power than the all-new BMW M3 and M4 put out in a much more compact, ever so slightly lighter package. In other words, the Dinan 1M is bonkers mad and a complete joy to drive flat out.
Dinan S3 R BMW 1M review: A great car made epic
Power delivery is commensurately turbocharged. Aggressive throttle inputs are met with a small helping of turbo-lag – but I don’t consider this a failing. The turbocharged performance – quirks and all – adds to the Dinan 1M’s personality – just as it does in the stock 1M. Lag has slightly increased over stock – but good lord does this thing punch you in the back once boost builds. From the seat-of-my-pants-o-meter the S3-R BMW 1M achieves 60 mph in less than 4 seconds. If my arm was twisted to venture a guess, I’d pin it at 3.8.
1962-Lincoln-Continental-Convertible - Black Car, Lowrider, Heels, Model
Dinan’s adjustable coil-over suspension, anti-roll bar, wheel bearing and rear toe-link kit completely transforms the handling of the diminutive M car from understeery to brilliantly neutral. Yes, a good helping of throttle will quickly rotate a stock 1M, but that doesn’t help you out on corner entry – nor on corner exit if you’re serious about lap times. Dinan’s suspension solution is a handling epiphany.
Dinan S3 R BMW 1M review: A great car made epic
The engine and suspension mods are balanced by a powerful Brembo brake package and monstrously wide Pilot Super Sports all ’round. The dramatically wider front tire width is largely responsible for the improved turn in; you’ll never be shy of front-end grip. The wider front rubber and suspension tuning also provides more tactility through the steering wheel – whereas the stock 1M has excellent steering feel, the S3-R BMW 1M’s steering is grit-on-the-surface descriptive.
Dinan S3 R BMW 1M review: A great car made epic
Had I not been having so much fun I may have found the S3-R BMW 1M to be slightly terrifying, only because the test circuit was so poorly surfaced. On smooth roads or any racetrack the 1M would be much less of a handful, stimulating more dopamine than cortisol receptors. On the atrociously rough roads of my test circuit however, the 1M’s tires spent nearly as much time airborne as glued to the surface due to the stiff suspension setup battling constant undulations. This, coupled with the S3-R BMW 1M’s quick steering ratio and short wheelbase, left the Dinan 1M feeling loose and very twitchy at speed. Again – I blame the road, not the car. On any road half as rough the 1M would come into its own, showing off its heroic dynamics and fly-like agility with aplomb. I’d love toattack Austrian alpine roads in this thing.
Dinan S3 R BMW 1M review: A great car made epic
Despite the car’s short wheelbase, added front-end grip and front brake power, the Dinan 1M is completely planted under heavy braking.
1960-Cadillac-Coupe-DeVille - GM, Caddy, Model, Babe

The rear obediently stays inline, ready to play its part in corner exit. Heel-and-toe downshifts are accomplished with ease thanks to Dinan’s well machined performance pedals; these aluminum plates improve upon BMW’s already excellent pedal shape and design.
Dinan S3 R BMW 1M review: A great car made epic
Power slides are easily controlled – though I didn’t execute too many: the particular S3-R BMW 1M I drove was a prototype and the only in existence. The Dinan 1M is without question a complete hooligan should you treat it like the devil it is – eager to send countless Michelins to tire purgatory.
Dinan S3 R BMW 1M review: A great car made epic
After a proper blast on Californian mountain roads followed by a relaxed drive back to Dinan headquarters, I was left in awe of what Steve Dinan has achieved in the 1M.

The folks of Morgan Hill have perfected a performance car that the world already held in high esteem. Dinan has made a great car epic and if you happen to be one of the lucky few chumps who own a BMW 1M (this includes you, Horatiu), I strongly encourage you to lend your machine to Steve Dinan for a few weeks.
It will come back a prodigious, exotic supercar. You’ll have added the final brush stroke to your masterpiece.

BMW 135is. “The last of the classic Bimmers”

Next year, BMW will phase out the 135is coupe which will be replaced by the new 2 Series family and most likely by an M235i model.
The super sport version of the 1 Series Coupe, dubbed BMW 135is, currently sits above the 135i model, but still below the almighty 1M. Using the same engine as the 135i, the “is” model has been tuned to 320 hp (+20 hp increase) and 317 lb-ft of torque (+17 lb.ft) while maintaining the same emissions level and MPG ratings of the 135i.
Other upgrades to the tight and compact 1 Series Coupe is a new performance exhaust system and an upgraded engine cooling system that adds a larger, and more powerful radiator fan and an auxiliary radiator.
The BMW 135is models, coupe and convertible, are offered with either a standard 6-Speed manual transmission or an optional 7-Speed Double Clutch Transmission.
BMW 135is. The last of the classic Bimmers
To some, the BMW 135is has been and still is one of the most fun, yet underrated models in the now vast BMW lineup. Its sportiness and agility makes it an interesting track car and a great commuter, and some owners, and not only, see the 135is being “The Last Of The Classic Bimmers.”
Morena Baccarin gorgeous brunette supermodel - hot, teen, sexy, cute, girl
Detroit News spent some time with the car before declaring that the 135is is a modern classic bimmer.
The light, little 3,300-pound 135is coupe I drove around Detroit carries on in the exciting way BMW’s new 3 Series sedans and soon-to-arrive 4 Series coupes and convertibles are leaving behind. The 1 Series also comes as a convertible.

The TwinPower turbocharged 320-horsepower in-line six cylinder engine responds to throttle inputs without hesitation. The clutch and short-throw shift lever worked in perfect concert with the aggressively geared six-speed manual transmission. The optional transmissions include an eight-speed automatic and an automated seven-speed dual clutch.

BMW pulled the plug last year on the even sportier 1 Series M version. Fewer than 800 of the 340-horsepower pocket rockets were sold in North America. The 135is was introduced this year as its top performance replacement.
So should you buy one? Same online magazine says:
And special is what you are looking for when you buy the BMW badge. You can get a larger and more luxurious Cadillac ATS with an equally powerful engine for about $10,000 less. How about an even larger Chevrolet Camaro with more V-6 horsepower and better fuel economy for about $20,000 less?

But if you want to be seen arriving in a Bimmer, the modern classic is a 135is.
